Hair symbolizes knowledge and in the native tradition, “twisted hair ” refers to those who take knowledge from many sources and weave it together, synthesizing and formulating braids of truth. We are the story tellers. Telling stories of beauty from the inside out; sometimes weaving the stories from the outside in.

The heart of Twisted Hair provides beauty and healing through a playful tapestry of services, workshops and eclectic retail for body, mind, spirit, and home.

“The fascia: when a baby forms within the mother’s womb, the fascia forms first, and then the organs, bones and tissues form inside the ball of fascia. When a person dies, the last part of the body to hold the spark of life is the fascia. This connective alpha and omega collects our issues in our tissues, or stones in the river of your body and your life. Myofascial release irons out the wrinkles, bumps and bruises of life, through touch both strong and tender.”

— Krystn Madrine

By using my hands to deeply listen to the signals of your body, I use the biodynamic therapies I have developed over 30 years of treating people ~ of all ages~ to help you release physiological and somatic stress and pain, and help you to achieve well-being.

Sessions with me are a transformational journey to healing yourself.

As a renaissance healer, I have a bag of tools and techniques that I bring to every session.

I have taken all my training and all my experience and created a unique bodywork series and sequence of treatments that help a person to heal,

from the inside out.

I was a midwife for nearly 30 years. I stood on the altar of life and death, and learned a lot about how to handle energy, and bodies, and how humans express emotion through their bodies. At once mysterious and sacred, also it is very physical, and deeply individual. Early on in my midwifery career,  I knew an osteopathic physician who would come to a birth and treat the newborn babies. She recognized my ability to touch and see into a body, and so she trained me in craniosacral therapy. I apprenticed with her for three years, and then went to two different massage schools. I then went on to advanced training in myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, polarity therapy and craniosacral therapy.

I have had excellent teachers and mentors, and have had the opportunity to treat every age and every kind of people from the Amish to doctors and nurses and babies and the very ill and dying. It is an honor and a privilege to assist in a person’s healing journey.
